Efficacy of newer insecticides against whitefly, Bemisia tabaci in urdbean

Abstract:
Two field trial was conducted during Kharif season of 2018 and 2019 at Agricultural Research Farm, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi to evaluate the efficacy of Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 20g a.i./ha, Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 25g a.i./ha, Emamectin benzoate 5 SG @ 11g a.i./ha, Spinosad 45 SC @ 73g a.i./ha, Azadirachatin 0.03% WSP @ 2500 g/ha, Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 EC @ 20g a.i./ha, untreated control against whitefly, Bemisia tabaci in blackgram. The results of the two years field trial revealed that Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 25g a.i./ha was most effective in reducing the population of whitefly followed by Imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 20g a.i./ha and Azadirachatin 0.03% WSP @ 2500 g/ha.
