Abstract:
Farmers Producers Organizations (FPOs) are voluntary organizations controlled by their farmer- members who actively participate in setting their policies and making decisions. The paper has evaluated the basic profile, service offered, suggestion and Economic activities of FPOs in Banda district. The study is based on primary data collected through pre tested schedule. Out of twenty one FPOs, four viz., Durgapur Kisan Producer Company Ltd (DKPCL), Bamdev Kisan Producer Company Ltd (BKPCL), Tanu Kisan Producer Company Ltd (TKPCL) and Shaktipeeth Kisan Producer Company Ltd (SKPCL) FPOs were selected randomly which is promoted and Supported by Manvodaya Sansthan NGO and NABARD respectively. The result revealed that in DKPCL, have the highest number of members (159) and the highest turnover (Rs. 500,000) among all four FPO.
