Studies on post-harvest treatments of calcium chloride and calcium nitrate on shelf life of guava fruits Cv. Sardar

Abstract:
The present investigation was carried out in P.G. Laboratory, Department of Horticulture, College of Agriculture, Latur (MH). The experiment framed was intended to study post-harvest treatments of calcium chloride and calcium nitrate on shelf life of guava fruits cv. Sardar in Completely Randomized Design with thirteen treatments and three replications. The results revealed that, there were significant variations found in quality of guava due to application of calcium chloride and calcium nitrate. As regard to shelf life, the maximum shelf life (10.66 days) were recorded with fruits treated with T4- (CaCl2) 2.0%. The data related to shelf life were recorded up to 14th day of storage.
