Abstract:
The present study was planned to investigate Nutrigenomic expression level of TLRs (Toll-like Receptors), viz. TLR 2, TLR 4 and TLR 7 gene transcripts of broiler chickens when supplemented with different sources of zinc. One hundred and sixty day-old broiler birds were equally and randomly distributed into four treatment (T1, T2, T3 and T4) groups which were subdivided into four replicates containing ten birds in each, reared on deep litter system up to 6 weeks of age. T1 group was kept as control and offered maize-soybean meal based diet without any source of zinc in mineral mixture. Treatment groups T2, T3 and T4 were supplemented with inorganic, organic and Nano zinc, respectively. The Nutrigenomic expression data revealed that mRNA expression of TLR 2 and TLR 7 of broilers was enhanced in all the groups supplemented with different forms of zinc, either inorganic, organic or Nano, with a highest up regulation in the Nano zinc supplemented group. A down regulation pattern was observed in the RQ (Relative Quantification) values of TLR 4 with a minimum RQ value in Nano zinc supplemented group when compared with other treatments. The present study revealed that Nano zinc supplementation had a stimulatory effect on the up regulation of TLR 2 and TLR 7 and down regulation of TLR 4 indicating good immunity and healthy gut microflora.
