Abstract:
Pharmacognosy, the study of medicinal substances obtained from natural sources, continues to play a pivotal role in drug discovery and development. This research paper explores the diverse array of natural products utilized in pharmacognosy and their significance in the quest for novel therapeutics. Natural products offer a vast repository of chemical diversity, serving as inspiration for drug discovery efforts due to their unique structural features and biological activities. Through advanced analytical techniques and innovative screening methodologies, researchers harness the potential of natural products to identify promising lead compounds and develop effective drugs. This paper reviews recent advancements in pharmacognosy, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in exploiting natural products for drug discovery.
