Importance of agriculture intervention in improving nutritional status of women and children: An Indian scenario

Abstract:
Malnutrition is a worldwide challenge with huge social and economic costs. Agriculture produces the food people eat and is the primary source of livelihood in India (Employment, income). As the most important source of livelihood for most nutritionally vulnerable people agriculture is not doing enough to turn this situation around. Therefore need to analyse the situation with various indicators to take appropriate measure to improve the nutritional status of most vulnerable group like children and women. Only food is not enough so various other indicators also should be taken in concern as sanitation availability of safe drinking water supplements.
