Abstract:
The shaded dried powdered leaves of Azadirachta indica Juss were subjected to extraction with methanol through cold percolation method. The GC-MS analysis of the methanol extract showed the presence of six different compounds. They are Probenazole (36.46%), Etofenprox (17.38%), Cinerin I (13.74%), Prohydrojasmon-2 (11.81%), Prohydrojasmon-1 (10.31%) and OH-DMP (10.31%). IC50 value of methanol extract was determined as 109.6±7.2 μg/mL through antioxidant activity study with DPPH. Antibacterial study showed a moderate result of 0.8 mm ZOI with Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC) 25923.
