Abstract:
A Series of thiazolidinedione derivatives were synthesized by reacting 5-(4-hydroxybenzylidene)-1,3-thiazolidine-2,4-one and 5-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene)-1,3-thiazolidine-2,4-one with aromatic N-substituted acetamide at room temperature. Synthesized compounds were characterised by IR, 1H-NMR and mass spectroscopy and evaluated for antidiabetic activity in dexamethasone induced Wister albino mice animal model. Compound C and Compound D have exhibited promising hypoglycemic activity by comparing against Pioglitazone and metformin.
