Abstract:
A male pigeon was presented with a history of hard swelling on the superior aspect of the left eye since two weeks. The swelling measured 1.5cm in diameter and completely enwreathed the affected eye. The mass was removed via surgical excision and was diagnosed as a chronic abscess. On bacterial culture examination it was validated that the abscess was caused by a member of the genus Nocardia. This paper reports a case of pigeon with cutaneous nocardiosis and also gives the surgical procedure adopted.
