Through this review article, we present an overview of the antiurolithiatic flora of Balaghat where the population are experiencing increasingly kidney-related health issues. Environmental deterioration is on the verge of receiving public health policy focus as a greater factor than standard health care, and this review has identified numerous plant species, documented to have their known therapeutic actions as medicine.
The plants that have been identified appear to have antiurolithiatic activities and provide natural and potential solutions to address kidney stone formation. By compiling the pharmacological aspects and potential actions related to these plants for therapeutic use, we would like to contribute to maintaining awareness of indigenous plant-based prescriptions for kidney health in Balaghat and elsewhere. The flora located in Balaghat, has enormous untapped pharmacognostic potential, the current number of plants contacting pharmacognostic uncertainty indicates that plants can replace some types of modern medicine. These efforts are possible as traditional medicine and the effects of active ingredients can meld with plant remedies, and other scientific disciplines, alongside ongoing development of sustainable forms of treatment and maintaining cultural heritage use of wellness and health practices addressing disease and injury associated with local needs, including kidneys.
