Abstract: Transferosomes, highly deformable lipid vesicles, offer significant advantages over traditional vesicular systems, improving drug penetration across the stratum corneum. This review details the composition, preparation methods, and mechanism of action of transferosomes, specifically focusing on their application in delivering miconazole nitrate. It further discusses the benefits of transferosomes in transdermal drug delivery, the evaluation of miconazole nitrate transferosomes, and the kinetic drug release profiles. The preparation and evaluation of miconazole nitrate transferosomal gel, including its application in treating fungal infections, are also comprehensively reviewed. This article highlights the potential of transferosomal gels as a promising approach for improving the efficacy and patient compliance in antifungal therapy through enhanced drug delivery.
