Optimizing cotton yields through high density planting and closer spacing systems in Suryapet

Abstract:
In 2024-2025, a study was carried out in Telangana state's Suryapet district. Out of the nine clusters in the Suryapet district, fifty farmers were particularly selected, and all of them grew cotton according to HDPS/CS. To gauge farmers' understanding of ICAR-CICR's Cotton Special Project, "Targeting technologies to agro-ecological zones - large scale demonstrations of best practices to enhance the cotton productivity" under NFSM, both before and after it was put into action. The study used pre-structured interviews and a descriptive research technique to gather data through in-person interviews. The study was carried out in the Suryapet district of Telangana state in 2024-2025 with the aim of assessing farmers' knowledge prior to and following the ICAR-CICR Special project on Cotton.
