Abstract:
Withania somnifera, frequently called ashwagandha, a plant possesses a known history in Ayurvedic medicine extending across three thousand years. This review explores its diverse pharmacological properties, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. With territorial diversity throughout the tropical zones, the plant's bioactive constituents participate to its varied applications. It demonstrates potential in managing stress, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and shows antibacterial and antitumor properties. Although encouraging, additional studies in humans are required for confirming its therapeutic application, and research into how it works with other medications or herbs is necessary.
