Abstract:
The research experiment was conducted to ascertain the effects and responses of different biofertilizers to the growth and yield attributes on off-season broccoli in Dailekh, Nepal (1,278.74 MASL) during summer season of 2023. Due to over- dependency on chemicals, we conducted this experiment using bio fertilizers of different strains, which can even improve soil health and retain nutritive values on vegetables. The experimental design comprises of Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications and eight treatments. Highest plant height (53.52 cm), leaf count (19.93/ plant) and marketable yield (11.37 t/ha) was observed in T7: 50% RDF + 50% VAM, whereas days to curd maturity was shortened to 71.33 DAT in the same treatment. However, 50% RDF + 50% Azospirillum showed remarkable results in stem diameter (5.54 cm) and stem length (24.10 cm) Lowest output was recorded in T0: Control plots. Considering the results and response obtained, we can recommend farmers to use any of biofertilizers (VAM or Azospirillum) with 50% RDF (Recommended dose of fertilizers) for the production of offseason broccoli.
