Abstract: Hydrogels are networks of hydrophilic polymers that are three-dimensional and have an exceptional capacity to absorb and hold onto water. The biomedical, pharmaceutical, and industrial domains have shown a great deal of interest in hydrogels because of their biocompatibility, softness, and structural resemblance to natural tissues. A thorough description of hydrogels, including their types, preparation techniques, uses, and potential future developments.
