Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted during Kharif, 2024 in Northern dry zone of Karnataka to study the effect of integrated crop management on yield and economics of Bt cotton at Main Agricultural Research Station, UAS, Raichur. The Experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with three replications. There were nine treatments having HDPS planting and different crop management practices. The results revealed that among different integrated crop management techniques, significantly, higher seed cotton yield (2883 kg ha-1), gross returns (Rs.2,16,225 ha-1) and net returns (Rs.1,34,120 ha-1) were recorded by closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + pruning of monopodia at 45 DAS + detopping at 100 cm height (T6) followed by T5 (closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + two sprays of mepiquat chloride @ 25 g a.i. at 45 and 60 DAS), T3 (closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + detopping at 100 cm height), T4 (closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + pruning of monopodia at 45 DAS) and T7 (closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + detopping at 100 cm height + two sprays of mepiquat chloride @ 25 g a.i. at 45 and 60 DAS) which found on par with each other. However, higher BC ratio (2.63) was obtained with closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + pruning of monopodia at 45 DAS + detopping at 100 cm height. Results confirmed that closer spacing of 90 cm × 30 cm + pruning of monopodia at 45 DAS + detopping at 100 cm height was found beneficial and optimum for effective in maximizing yield and profitability in Bt cotton.
