Abstract: A field experiment was conducted to study the management of Alternaria blight (Alternaria brassicae) in mustard through fungicides under field conditions during kharif season of the year 2023 at the Rainfed Organic Agriculture Research Farm Narayan Bagh, Institute of Agricultural Science, Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (UP). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications and 9 treatments. The results revealed that after 75 days of sowing all the treatments were found to be significantly effective against Alternaria blight as compared with the water control. Minimum percent disease intensity was also recorded in the plot treated with the fungicide Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Hexaconazole 5% EC (0.5%) (19.97%) at par with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Difenconazole 25% EC (0.5%) (22.20%). On the other hand, maximum percent disease control was also found in the plot treated with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Hexaconazole 5% EC (0.5%) (58.19%) followed by the plot treated with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Difenconazole 25% EC (0.5%) (53.50%) compared to water control. After 90 days of sowing minimum percent disease intensity was also recorded in the plot treated with the fungicide Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Hexaconazole 5% EC (0.5%) (22.94%) and at par with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Difenconazole 25% EC (0.5%) (24.87%) compared to water control (60.83%). On the other hand, maximum percent disease control was also found in the plot treated with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Hexaconazole 5% EC (0.5%) (62.31%) followed by the plot treated with Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Difenconazole 25% EC (0.5%) (59.18%) compared to water control. Our study revealed that late sowing crop has reduces disease severity as compared to early sown crops and two foliar sprays of Mancozeb 75% WP (0.2%) followed by Hexaconazole 5% EC (0.5%) gave best disease management of Alternaria blight of linseed as compared to water control.
