Abstract:
Citrus peel and pulp's antioxidant and antibacterial activities are compared in this study, emphasising the natural alternatives to synthetic substances that they may offer. Bioactive substances like flavonoids, phenolic acids, and essential oils—which are well-known for their potent antioxidant and antibacterial properties—are abundant in citrus fruits, particularly in their peels. Citrus peels regularly have larger concentrations of these chemicals than the pulp according to the review and portrays shows various method of evalauation for antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. This analysis emphasises the importance of using citrus by-products to decrease waste and encourage the creation of sustainable products by highlighting the unique qualities of citrus peels and results support more investigation into the application and extraction of these chemicals to improve environmental sustainability and human health.
