Abstract:
Two calves were presented to the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, NTR College of Veterinary Science, Gannavaram with history of lemon sized growth in case 1 and grape sized growth in case 2 on upper eyelid of right eye from past few months. On clinical and detailed ophthalmic examination, left eye was normal and right eye was closed and had growth originating from the upper eyelid touching over cornea. The condition was tentatively diagnosed as tumor masses of upper right eyelids (OD). Animal was sedated with xylazine @ 0.02 mg / kg B.wt and right eyelid was desensitized by auriculo palpebral nerve block with 2% Lignocaine. The tumor mass was excised and reconstructive blepharoplasty was performed on upper eyelids with PGA No.1 and Silk of size 1. Post operatively animals were administered with parentral antibiotics for seven days and anti inflammatory drugs for 5 days. Skin sutures were removed on 12th post operative day. Histopathological examination of excised masses revealed as Neurofibroma. There is no reoccurrence during 5 months period followup. Animals were uneventful recovery with functional vision.
