Anti-migraine activity: In vivo evaluation of polyherbal hydro alcoholic extract

Abstract:
Migraine is a common, chronic, incapacitating neuro vascular disorder characterized by attacks of severe headache, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, and, in some patients, by an aura involving neurological symptoms. Migraine has recently become of major interest to neuro scientists. Migraine remains at its core a clinical problem defined by the International Headache Society (Headache Classification Committee of The International Headache Society, 2004), as a periodic, hemicranial, throbbing headache often accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
Modern medicine treat Migraine with agents like sumatriptan, belonging class of drugs now known as 5-HT1B/1D receptor agonists. The aim to evolve an effective Antimigrane formula from Hydroalcoholic extracts Ayurvedic herbs.

There exist many research studies establishing the Anti-migraine effects of herbs along with supportive and rejuvenative antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions.
Very few drugs are available in the market to cure migraine. Hence the present study was to carry out to demonstrate the Antimigraine activity of hydroalcoholic extract prepared from Ayurvedic herbs.
