Abstract:
An experiment was conducted at Main Cotton Research Station, NAU, Surat, South Gujarat during kharif seasons of 2019 to 2021 to find out the optimum plant density and nitrogen dose for arboretum cotton. The experiment was laid out in FRBD comprising of nine treatment combinations of three plant densities, 60 x 15 cm (D1), 60 x 30 cm (D2) and 120 x 45 cm (D3) and three nitrogen levels, 120 kg N/ha (N1), 150 kg N/ha (N2) and 180 kg N/ha (N3) with three replications. Results indicated, spacing 60 x 15 cm recorded significantly higher seed cotton yield over 60 x 30 cm and 120 x 45 cm spacing. Significantly higher seed cotton yield was recorded with 180 kg N/ha and but at par with 150 kg N/ha.
