Abstract:
The wheat cultivars were screened against lesser grain borer and its management with the objectives related to screening of different wheat varieties against lesser grain borer, the effect of inert dusts in their management and the effect of plant products in their management. The study was carried out at the experimental laboratory of Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture, and Gwalior. The highest amount of percent grain damage was observed in Lok-1 (35%), GW-366 (28%) and GW-173 (25.50%) which was all at par with each other while least was observed in HI-1544 and HI-8489D. The variety, HI-1544 was highly resistant with significantly minimum weight loss of 2.16% followed by HI- 8498D (4.16%). The variety Lok-1 was preferred by R. dominica with significantly maximum weight loss (15.40%) followed by GW-366 (11.67%). The population buildup observed in HI 1544 with 12 population which was followed by HI 8498D (14.50) which was at par with GW-190 (16).
