Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted in ratoon banana crop at Horticulture Research Farm, Pt. Kishori Lal Shukla College of Horticulture and Research Station, Pendri, Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh during the year 2021-2022, entitled with “Effect of post shooting spray of different plant growth regulators and nutrients on fingers and bunch attributes of Banana (Musa paradisiaca)”. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) with thirteen treatments and three replications. The treatment includes, T1: 2,4-D 15ppm, T2: 2,4-D 30ppm, T3: NAA 50ppm, T4: NAA 100ppm, T5: IAA 40ppm, T6: IAA 80ppm, T7: GA3 50ppm, T8: GA3100ppm, T9: SOP 1%, T10: SOP 1.5%, T11: Borax 0.5%, T12: Borax 1.0% and T13: Control(water). Bunch post-shooting spray of different treatment were imposed after complete opening of hands and second spray was given at 30 days after first spray. The observation on bunch and fingers attributes of banana were recorded and statistically analysed. The banana bunch parameter and fingers parameters were significantly improved with the foliar application of plant growth regulators and nutrient, in case of bunch parameters like Bunch weight (14.30kg), Bunch width (40.71cm), Numbers of hand per bunch (11.50), Numbers of hand per bunch (11.50), Weight of third hand (1.67kg), Maximum yield (44.14 t/ha) and in fingers characters Finger weight (117.89g), Finger length(18.00cm), Finger girth(41.39mm), Pulp weight(84.10g), Peel weight(33.90g) were recorded with T10(SOP 1.5%) while, Bunch length (63.84 cm) and Number of fingers per bunch (160.17) were recorded in GA3 100ppm and SOP 1% respectively..
Therefore, it may be concluded that treatment T10(SOP 1.5%) was found most appropriate for post shooting spray on Banana.
