Abstract:
An experiment was aimed to evaluate the effect of Aloe vera powder supplementation on the immune response of broilers. One-hundred-and-sixty-day old broiler chicks were assigned into four treatment groups with four replicates of ten birds in each treatment groups. The first treatment group T0 kept as control fed as standard basal diet without any supplementation of Aloe vera, T1 fed basal diet with zinc bacitracin at 20 mg/kg and 60 mg/kg salinomycin, T2 and T3 were provided basal diet with 1% and 1.5% Aloe vera powder respectively. Result shows that the Aloe vera in broiler feed shows significant (p<0.05) effect on broilers vaccinated with Nehwcastle disease vaccine (Lasota). Treatment T2 had significantly greater antibody titres than treatments T0, T1 and T3 (p<0.05%). Aloe vera powder is utilized in the feed of broilers, the trend suggests that varying doses of Aloe vera powder had good impacts on immunological response.
