Abstract:
Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a major oilseed crop in India and in many developing countries. It ranks as the 4th significant oilseed crop and the 13th important food crop in the world. In past the combination of improved varieties and nutrient management practices have contributed significantly to increase in production and productivity. But use of high analysis fertilizers containing no micronutrients, little or no use of organic manure and imbalance and injudicious application of nutrient fertilizer create problem of multi nutrient deficiencies which result in low yield. Being an unpredictable legume and high nutrient requirement crop, optimization of the mineral nutrition through integrated nutrient management with balance doses of all the nutrients is the key way to optimize the production of groundnut.
