Abstract:
The present studies i.e. effect of nanoparticles (ZnO) on fruit quality parameters of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and was performed under net house conditions using a completely randomized design with thirteen treatments T1- control, T2- 100% RDN (vermicompost) with 50 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T3- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizer) + 50 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T4- 100% RDN (vermicompost) + 50 ppm ZnO (foliar), T5- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizer) + 50 ppm ZnO (foliar), T6- 100% RDN (vermicompost) + 100 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T7- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizer) + 100 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T8- 100% RDN (vermicompost) + 100 ppm ZnO (foliar), T9- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizers) + 100 ppm ZnO (foliar), T10-100% RDN (vermicompost) + 150 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T11- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizers) + 150 ppm ZnO (seed treatment), T12- 100% RDN (vermicompost) + 150 ppm ZnO (foliar), T13- 50% RDN (vermicompost) + 50% RDN (chemical fertilizers) + 150 ppm ZnO (foliar) which was further replicated three times during the year 2020. The effect of application of ZnO nanoparticles with variable nutrient sources at 50, 100 and 150 ppm on fruit shape index and pericarp thickness of capsicum was evaluated and concluded that, the pericarp thickness and fruit shape index had non- significant effct by the seed treatment as well as foliar application of ZnO nanoparticles.
