Abstract:
The current investigation “Effect of Climatic Parameters on Rice Yield in Chhattisgarh Plain”. The effect of three climatic parameters: (i) rainfall, (ii) minimum temperature and (iii) maximum temperature were determined on crop productivity. Five models such as Quadratic, Cubic, Exponential, Compound and Linear were explored and three model selection criterions were evaluated. The selection criterions are R², MAE and RMSE. Based on this criterion, it was documented that the quadratic model was best fitted model for Rice with respect to rainfall, minimum temperature and maximum temperature. While analyzing the trend for rice productivity with respect to climatic parameters were considered as a whole i.e., C.G. Plain Region, rainfall was found highly significant for rice (Kharif crop) yield. These models are useful to farmers as well as Government decision bodies of Chhattisgarh to decide the future prospects and possible course of action in advance. This was very challenging task for researchers to develop a precise & accurate and best fit model for the future forecast. May this study will clear the fog through new methodology and also will create the new way in the direction of forecasting.
