Abstract:
The present experiment was carried out during Kharif season of year 2021 at ICAR-Indian Institute of Rice Research, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. The aim of the study was to determine the relationship between nutritional traits, grain yield and yield attributing traits in 96 rice genotypes along with 4 checks. Correlation studies showed strong positive and significant correlation of grain yield per plant with number of tillers per plant, number of productive tillers per plant, main panicle length, total seeds per main panicle, filled grains per main panicle and spikelet fertility. The path analysis revealed that the traits like plant height, number of tillers per plant, total seeds per main panicle, filled grains per main panicle, spikelet fertility and days to 50% flowering showed strong positive direct effect on grain yield per plant. Hence, these characters are helpful to determine the higher grain yield and can be used for improvement of grain yield in rice genotypes (Oryza sativa L. and Oryza glaberrima Steud.) using further selection.
