Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted at research farm of ICAR-AICRP on Pearl Millet, Project Coordinating Unit, Agriculture University, Jodhpur. There were total 8 genotypes (including 2 checks) of pearl millet were tested for drought tolerance using polyethylene glycol (PEG) (5% and 10%) to induce osmotic stress. results revealed that genotype MH-2228 and MH-2359 performed better having high shoot length, seedling dry weight, SVI and high root shoot ratio. The better performance of these genotypes may be due to high RWC, MSI, chlorophyll and CAT under drought stress.
