Abstract:
A field experiment entitled “Effect of Fertigation on Performance of Summer Onion Under Different Water Regimes” was carried out during summer season of 2019-20, in split plot design having main plot treatments as drip irrigation levels viz.I1: 0.4 ETc, I2: 0.6 ETc, I3: 0.8 ETc, I4: 1.0 ETc and Sub-treatments as fertigation levels viz. F1: 60 percent RDF (60:30:30 kg ha-1), F2: 80 percent RDF (80:40:40 kg ha-1), F3: 100 percent RDF (100:50:50 kg ha-1), F4: 120 Percent RDF (120:60:60 kg ha-1) with sixteen treatment combinations, replicated twice. The result showed that the irrigation scheduled at I3- 0.8 ETc noticed higher plants height, number of leaves and bulb yield of onion (61.68 t ha-1) and it was at par with I2- 0.6 ETc (58.70 t ha-1). While the fertigation level 100% RDF (F3) registered superior plant height, number of leaves also yield of onion bulb (61.27 t ha-1) and it was at par with fertigation level F2- 80% RDF (59.19 t ha-1). The treatment combination of irrigation level 0.8 ETc and fertigation at 100% RDF produce highest yield than other combination. The maximum WUE i.e., 268.26 kg ha-1 mm-1 while in case of fertigation maximum WUE observed in F3 (100% RDF). The canopy temperature of I4 (0.4 ETc) was shows significantly lower and highest temperature observed in I1 whereas under fertigation not observed any significant difference in canopy temperature.
