Abstract:
The present study was undertaken to estimate the Total serum IgE levels in the Pugs suspected for canine atopic dermatitis. Total of 50 blood samples were collected from the Pugs suspected for CAD based on history, clinical signs and after fulfilment of criteria for the diagnosis of CAD and 6 blood samples were collected from healthy Pugs and serum was separated by centrifugation. Out of 50 suspected cases, CAD was confirmed in 36 cases by intradermal test. Total serum IgE levels were estimated by ELISA technique. The dog’s positive for intradermal test showed significantly high level of serum IgE antibodies compared to healthy dogs and intradermal test negative dogs.
