Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted “Effect of nano nitrogen and nano zinc nutrion on nutrient uptake, growth and yield of irrigated maize during summer in southern transition zone of Karnataka.” was conducted in summer during the year 2020-21 at Agriculture and Horticultural Research Station, Kathhalagere, Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with eight treatments and three replications Among the treatments, significantly higher plant height (220.00 cm), number of green leaves plant-1 (12.9) and dry matter per plant (358.00 g) were recorded in the treatment which received RDN (100%) along with two sprays of 0.4 per cent nano N and nano Zn @ 35 and 45 DAT. Similarly, significantly higher cob length (18.90), number of kernel row-1 (35.61), kernel yield ha-1(8850 kg) and stover yield ha-1 (10428 kg) were also recorded in same treatment and it was on par with RDN (75 %) along with two sprays of 0.4 per cent nano N and nano Zn @ 35 and 45 DAT.
