Abstract:
Gross and histological evaluation of the vagina was studied and compared between Kadaknath and White Leghorn breeds (WLH) of fowl. A total number of 48 layers of Kadaknath (24) and White Leghorn (24) were taken for the present study and further divided into four groups viz group I (24 weeks), group II (32 weeks), group III (40 weeks) and group IV (48 weeks). The length of vagina is maximum in 48 weeks of Kadaknath and 24 weeks of age in WLH. This is related to their maximum egg production during their respective age. Thickness of vaginal wall increases with age and is more in Kadaknath as compared to WLH in all the groups.
