Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted at Crop Research Station Sardar Patel University of Agriculture & Technology in Meerut, (U.P) during kharif season 2021 to evaluate the effectiveness of post-emergence application of Imazethapyr in conjunction with pre-emergence application of Pendimethalin on green gram (Vigna radiata L.). The experiment laid out in randomized block design with 3 replication and comprised of treatments Control (Weedy check) T_1, Weed free (T₂)_, one hand weeding 20 DAS (T₃)_, two hand weeding 20 and 40 DAS (T₄)_, Quizalofop-ethyl 50 g a.i./ha Post - emergence (20 DAS) (T₅)_, Quizalofop-ethyl 50 g a.i./ha Post - emergence (20 DAS) + one hand weeding 40 DAS (T₆)_, Imazethapyr 50 g a.i./ha Post emergence (20 DAS) (T₇)_, Imazethapyr 50 g a.i./ha 20 DAS + one hand weeding 40 DAS (T₈)_, Pendimethalin 1.0 kg a.i./ha Pre emergence (T₉) and Pendimethalin 1.0 kg a.i./ha Pre emergence + Imazethapyr 50 g a.i./ha 20 DAS + one hand weeding 40 DAS (T₁₀). The outcomes showed that T10 and T8 had comparable maximum weed control efficiencies at harvest. The results also showed that, among the various treatments, T2 (weed-free) had the maximum grain production (14.1 q ha-1), which was comparable to treatment T10's (13.8 q ha-1) and was followed by treatment T7 (12.4 q ha-1). The results showed that treatment T2 had the best net financial return (Rs. 91250 ha-1) and B:C ratio (2.72), while among herbicides treatment T10 and T8 had the highest net financial return (Rs. 92706 ha-1) and B:C ratio (3.14), respectively.
