Abstract:
The present experimental trial was conducted at Instructional Farm, College of Agriculture, SKRAU, Bikaner, during Rabi, 2020-21 to estimate the response of organic manures and fertilizers on yield and quality of carrot under sandy soil condition. The treatments consisted four levels of organic manure (Control, Poultry manure @ 10 t ha-1, Vermicompost @ 20 t ha-1 and FYM @ 20 t ha-1) and fertilizers level (Control, 50, 75 and 100% RDF). The application of vermicompost @ 20 t ha-1 significantly increased yield attributes and yield of carrot and also enhanced all quality attributes (TSS, β-carotene and total chlorophyll content) over control. Further, yield attributes and yield as well as all quality attributes (TSS, β-carotene and total chlorophyll content) of carrot were also found significantly increased with the application of 100% RDF over control.
