Abstract:
Polyherbal formulations, combining multiple medicinal plant extracts, have been integral to traditional medicine systems for centuries, offering a holistic approach to healthcare. The integration of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) in the study of polyherbal formulations represents a significant advancement in herbal medicine research and development. This abstract presents a conceptual framework for the application of HPLC in the characterization, standardization, and quality control of polyherbal formulations. The primary objective of this conceptual framework is to explore the synergistic potential of polyherbal formulations and elucidate the role of HPLC in their analysis. Specifically, we aim to review current literature on polyherbal formulations, discuss principles and methodologies of HPLC analysis, highlight challenges and considerations in formulation development, and propose strategies for integration into research and development pipelines. The integration of HPLC analysis into the study of polyherbal formulations holds promise for advancing herbal medicine research and practice. By harnessing the synergistic potential of polyherbal formulations and the analytical precision of HPLC, we can unlock new insights into the chemical composition, pharmacological activity, and therapeutic potential of herbal medicines. This conceptual framework provides a roadmap for researchers, manufacturers, and policymakers to harness the full potential of polyherbal formulations for healthcare innovation and global health promotion.
