Abstract:
The present investigation was conducted at the Hi-tech Horticulture center of Dr Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa, Samastipur (Bihar) during the winter seasons of the years 2017, 2018 and 2019. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design with eight treatments along with three replications. The of application of Pendimethalin (Pre. Em) @ 1.0 kg a.i./ ha along with two hand weeding at 30 and 60 DAP afforded maximum protection from the invasion of weeds in the field and thereby recorded lowest weed population and maximum vegetative growth as well as floral qualities with respect to marigold recording 31.11 (Weed count (g)/m2), 37.16 (Fresh wt. of weed (g) / m2), 6.21 (Dry wt. of weed (g) / m2), 64.93 (Plant height(cm)), 31.18 (No. of side shoots / plant), 47.48 (Days to first bud appearance), 66.54 (Days to full bloom stage), 40.94 (Days flower withering), 69.40 (No. of flower / plant), 317.20 (Wt.(g) of flower / plant), 9.54 (Wt. kg. of flower / plot) and 5.50 (B:C ratio).
