Abstract:
In the present studies investigation were conducted on Terminalia bellirica to study the effect of seed size (large, medium and small) and weight on germination. The data revealed that the large size seeds gave maximum (85.00%) germination followed by medium size (80.00%) and small size seeds characterized by low germination percentage (67.00%) in Terminalia bellirica. First count germination, shoot length, root length, and seed vigour index positively correlated with seed size. On the basis of result obtained in present study, concluded that germination percentage significantly declined with reduction in size and weight of the seeds.
