Abstract:
The incidence of the leafhoppers on sunflower sown during the last week of August 2013 was 6.66 leaf hopper per leaf and peak incidence was noticed during second week of November (23.16 leafhoppers/ plant). Whereas moderate incidence was noticed up to first week of January (12.66 leafhoppers/ plant). No incidence was noticed from fourth week of April to third week of May 2013 and this may be due to higher temperature. Later leafhopper activity was again increased and reached 6.73 leafhoppers per plant during August 2013. There was significant negative relationship with weather parameters like maximum temperature (4 = -0.74) and minimum temperature (r = -0.793), while significant positive relationship with morning relative humidity (4 = +0.684); afternoon relative humidity (4 = +0.69) and also total rainfall (r = +0.108) which was found non-significant.
