Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted during kharif seasons of 2015-16 and 2016-17 at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ganiwan, Chitrakoot (U.P.) to assess the balance nutrition in maize under maize-wheat system. Shoot growth of maize viz. plant height and dry weight/plant at 60 DAS was recorded significantly higher in 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat during 2015-16 and 2016-17. Root growth of maize viz. root spread, root length and root dry weight was obtained significantly superior in 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 50% NPK to wheat and 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat treatment in two years of study. Grain yield and stover yield was observed significantly greater in 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat in both the years. Application of 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat gave 17.13 and 7.19 q/ha more grain yield over 100% NPK to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat during 2015-16 and 2016-17, respectively. Production efficiency was noted markedly higher in 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 100% NPK to wheat followed by 75% NPK+VC 2 t/ha to kharif and 75% NPK to wheat.
