Abstract:
Many schemes and programmes developed for women empowerment, employment generation has designed and implemented by the Government of India to economic development. There are number of schemes for people residing in rural, urban and remote areas that range from SGSY, SGRY, SJSRY, REGP, SHGs etc. In India main reasons for poverty -population explosion, low agriculture productivity, unemployment of youth and women, inflation and the social caste-system. SHGs helps Specialy the poor women to develop social, economic and political empowerment and increase economic development. The model has been supported by banks, financial institutions and NGOs with participative approach with the members of the SHGs for SHGs development. Many states and union territories of India are promoting and supporting the Self help group model to increase economic development and women empowerment. Create employment, apportitunities in the start up areas for the development of SHGs.
