Abstract:
A field experiment was undertaken during rabi seasons of 2014-15 and 2015-16 in Agronomy Main Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar to study the residual effect of integrated nutrient management in rice on growth and yield of rabi groundnut on rice-groundnut cropping system. The experiment was laid out in a Randomised Block design with 12 treatment combinations and replicated thrice. Different treatments were T1- RDN, T2- 75% RDN + 25% N through FYM, T3- 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM, T4- RDN + Zinc EDTA, T5- RDN + Sulphur (30 kg ha-1), T6- RDN + ZnSO4 (25 kg ha-1), T7- 75% RDN + 25% N through FYM + Zinc EDTA, T8- 75% RDN + 25% N through FYM + Sulphur (30 kg ha-1), T9- 75% RDN + 25% N through FYM + ZnSO4 (25 kg ha-1), T10- 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + Zinc EDTA, T11- 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + Sulphur (30 kg ha-1) and T12- 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + ZnSO4 (25 kg ha-1) in kharif rice. Among the integrated nutrient management practices applied to kharif rice, the residual effect of 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + 25 kg ha-1 ZnSO4 (T12) was more pronounced on growth, yield attributes and yield of rabi groundnut which resulted the maximum pod yield of 1780 kg ha-1 and this was statistically similar with the residual effect of that of 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + 30 kg ha-1 Sulphur (1752 kg ha-1 pods). Plant height of rabi groundnut was maximum (48.9 cm) with treatment of residual effect of 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + Sulphur 30 kg ha-1 applied to kharif rice. But residual effect of 50% RDN + 50% N through FYM + 25 kg ha-1 ZnSO4 gives to kharif rice recorded the maximum LAI(3.27) at 90 DAS, highest dry matter accumulation (37.47 g plant_1) at harvest and maximum crop growth of 22.48 g m-2 day-1 between 60-90 DAS in rabi groundnut. Residual effect of only chemical fertilisers (RDN/RDN+Zinc spray/RDN+Sulphur) was lowest in succeeding rabi groundnut.
