Author(s):
Gaurav Sharma and Basavaraj Jadagoudar
Abstract:
The present experiment was carried out to evaluate eleven genotypes including named varieties of French marigold under Chhattisgarh plains agro-climatic conditions in randomized complete block design. The performance of genotypes was observed with regard to vegetative growth, flowering and yield attributes. Genotypes IIHR MO-4, CGFM-5 and CGFM-3 performed better with respect to vegetative growth parameters. Genotype IIHR MO-4 was found to be earliest in bud appearance, flower bud opening and days for 50% flower bud opening. Genotype IIHR MO-2 recorded maximum flower diameter whereas, longest flowering duration was observed in Pusa Deep. Genotype CGFM-1 recorded highest number of flowers and flower yield per plant as well as per hectare.
