Abstract:
Wilt of pigeonpea caused by Fuarium udum is a devastating disease of pigoenpea and has a regional as well as national perspective. In order to identify an effective control measures, eight solo fungicidesviz., Carbendazim, Mancozeb, Propineb, Thiophanate methyl, Azoxystrobin, Difenoconazole, Tebuconazoleand seven combi fungicides viz., Carboxin + Thiram, Carbendazim + Mancozeb, Tebuconazole + Trifloxystrobin, Mancozeb + Thiophanate methyl, Fluopyram + Tebuconazole, Azoxystrobin +Tebuconazole, Azoxystrobin +Difenoconazole were evaluated in vitro against Fusarium udum, causal agent of wilt of pigeonpea. Carbendazim (0.1%) and Tebuconazole(0.1%) were found best solo fungicides and Carboxin + Thiram (0.25%), Carbendazim + Mencozeb(0.2%), and Azoxystrobin + Difenoconazole (0.1%),found best combi fungicides which completely inhibited the radial growth and sporulation of Fusarium udum. The result showed superiority of combiformulation involving both protectant and systemic fungicides over the solo application of either fungicide separately. Therefore, combi product could be preferred over the solo application of either solo protectant or systemic fungicides to control Fusarium udum and avoid fungicide resistance.
