Abstract:
An experiment was conducted during rabi season of 2018-19 and 2019-20 at Research Farm of Birsa Agricultural University, Kanke, Ranchi, Jharkhand to study the “Effect of pre and post-emergence herbicide on growth parameters, yield and economics of linseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) under irrigated medium land condition of Jharkhand”. The treatments comprised of weed management practices viz., T1-Weedy Check, T2-Hand weeding twice at 30 and 60 DAS, T3-Metribuzin 250 g/ha + Oxyflourfen 125 g ha-1 (Pre.), T4-Pendimethalin 1 kg ha-1 (Pre.) fb. metsulfuron methyl 4 g ha-1 (Post.), T5-Imazethapyr 75 g ha-1 (Post.), T6-Oxyflourfen125 g ha-1 (Pre.), T7-Metsulfuron methyl 4 g ha-1 (Post.), T8-Clodinafop 60 g ha-1 (Post.), T9-Clodinafop 60 g ha-1 + metsulfuron methyl 4 g ha-1 (Post.) and T10-Oxadiargyl 80 g ha-1 (Pre.), and were replicated thrice. Pooled analysis revealed that Hand Weeding twice at 30 and 60 DAS resulted in maximum plant stand at harvest (607.17 thousand ha-1), plant height (50.99 cm), dry matter at harvest (4.55 g plant-1), no. of primary branches per plant (5.15), no. of capsules per plant (45.46), no. of seeds per capsule (8.65), thousand seed weight (8.16 g), seed yield (14.96 q ha-1), net return (Rs. 43771 ha-1).
