Abstract:
The present research programme was carried out at with an objective to estimate the estimates of heterosis for yield and yield attributing traits in QPM. Selected nine inbreds were crossed in Griffing’s Method II, model I during Rabi, 2014-15 and the resultant single cross hybrids were evaluated at Agricultural Research Statiion (ARS), Adilabad during Kharif, 2015. Relative heterosis ranged from 1.30 (QPM-15 X QPM-77) to 609.70 percent (QPM-53-2-2 X QPM-45). Thirty four hybrids recorded significantly positive relative heterosis. Heterobeltiosis ranged from -27.29 (QPM-15 X QPM-77) to 591.38 percent (QPM-53-2-2 X QPM-45). Thirty three hybrids recorded significantly positive heterobeltiosis.
