Abstract:
The present research programme was carried out at with an objective to estimate the estimates of heterosis for quality traits in QPM. Selected nine inbreds were crossed during Rabi, 2014-15 and the resultant single cross hybrids were evaluated at College farm, College of Agriculture, Hyderabad during Kharif, 2015.The results indicated that Standard heterosis ranged from -80.40 (QPM 15 X QPM-77) to -7.23 percent (QPM-45 X QPM-15) over the check, DHM 117 and it ranged from -76.57 (QPM 15 X QPM-77) to 10.85 percent (QPM-45 X QPM-15) over the other check, Vivek QPM 9. None of the hybrids recorded significantly positive standard heterosis over the non-QPM check, DHM 117 whereas, 3 hybrids recorded significantly positive standard heterosis over the QPM check, Vivek QPM 9.
