Abstract:
In the present study a series of novel 3-acetylindole derivatives were synthesized by reacting 3-acetylindole and benzaldehyde. The synthesized 3-acetylindole derivatives were characterized physico-chemically and by spectral (IR and 1H-NMR) analysis. All the synthesized compounds were screened for their in-vitro anti-inflammatory activity by inhibition of the albumin denaturation technique using diclofenac as standard. The results revealed that most of the compounds have better activity as compared with the standard diclofenac.
