Formation and Development of Nursing at the West of Ukraine in the XX Century

Abstract: The article analyzes the problems of formation and development of nursing in western Ukraine in the 20th century. Frequent changes of different socioeconomic formations, transition from being under the dominion of one country to the other, centuries of oppressing population by each of them significantly influenced the character of social relations, field of education in particular. Under such conditions, medical education in this region of Ukraine was forming long time under the influence of and according to the examples of laws of the ruling states. Western Ukraine was a place of testing the laws of these states.
