Changes in serum biochemical constituents of Pati ducks (Anas platyrhynchos domesticus)

Abstract:
In the present investigation, the randomly selected 30 birds were divided into 6 groups. The five groups of birds were kept for different periods i.e. 2 weeks, 8 weeks, 20 weeks, 30 weeks and 40 weeks. Blood samples about 2-3 ml were collected from the wing veins of each bird under aseptic condition by using insulin syringe. From the study it as observed that Alkaline phosphatase decreased significantly with age i.e. for 2 to 40 weeks while AST, ALT, CPK, glucose, protein, cholesterol, creatinine and triglycerides increased significantly (P<0.0001) with age.
